Approvals page
The record of every approval request, its channels, who decided, and withdrawing one that is pending.
People approve where they already are (Slack, Symphony, PagerDuty, xMatters, a phone call, e-mail), not in the
console. Approvals (/approvals, g a) is the record: pending requests at the top, then every request with the
channels it reached, the decision, who made it, the quorum, and a link to the incident. The number next to
Approvals in the navigation is how many are waiting.
| You can | How |
|---|---|
| Search | Words or the query language: status:pending risk:high, channel:slack decision:approved |
| Withdraw a pending request | Withdraw (responders and up). It's recorded (approval.withdrawn) |
| See why it needed people | The request says it: risk, not reversible, a policy rule, a drafted fix, a restore move |
Requests to raise autonomy or turn on drafted fixes survive a restart, with the approvals already given; a fix waiting for approval is closed as abandoned when 3AM restarts. How channels, escalation and quorum work: Approvals.
